Gambaran Fungsi Kognitif Pada Pasien Dengan Diabetes Melitus Tipe 2 Di Puskesmas Rejosari

Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (DM) usually refers to a group of metabolic diseases
characterized by hyperglycemia that can increase the risk of cognitive dysfunction throughblood
vessel disorder, including the blood vessel in the brain. The objective of this research was to
describe the cognitive function in type 2 Diabetes Mellitus patients in Rejosari Public Health
Centre. This research implemented descriptive design with cross sectional approach. The sample
selection was done by using consecutive sampling method. The data were obtain in form of primary
data by interview using Moca – Ina questionnaire. The research result from 46 research subject
showed that the most type DM patients characteristics were aged >65 years (46%), of the male
gender (56%), with an overweigth Body Mass Index (37%), suffering from diabeteses mellitus type
2 > 5 years (60%), and have junior high school level of education (35%). In type 2 DM patients
who experience a cognitive decline function the most common were at the age of > 65 years (46%),
of the male gender (56%), suffering from diabetes > 5 years (60%), and have junior high school
level of education (35%). There fore, it can be concluded that some type 2 Diabetes Mellitus
patients in Rejosari Public Health Centre experience a cognitive function decline.
