Hubungan Kepatuhan Minum Obat Antidiabetik Oral Terhadap Terkontrolnya Glukosa Darah Pada Pasien Diabetes Melitus Tipe 2 Di Puskesmas Tenayan Raya Kota Pekanbaru
Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease caused by metabolic disorders,
characterized by hyperglycemia that occurs due to impaired insulin secretion, or
because of both. One of the pillars in the management of diabetes is
pharmacological treatment in the form of giving antidiabetic drugs which aims to
control blood glucose levels to remain in normal conditions in an effort to prevent
complications. Diabetes mellitus requires a long period of treatment so that it
adherence the patient in the much needed treatment. This study aims to analyze the
relationship between adherence to taking antidiabetic drugs and control of blood
glucose levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus at the Primary Health Care
Tenayan Raya Pekanbaru. This study is an analytic study with a cross-sectional
approach and consecutive sampling method involving 55 respondents. The data
collection instruments used are medical records and the Morisky Medication
Adherence Scale-8 (MMAS-8) adherence test and analyzed by Chi-square
correlation. The results show that there is a significant relationship between
adherence to taking antidiabetic drugs and blood glucose levels in patients with
type 2 diabetes mellitus at the Primary Health Care Tenayan Raya Pekanbaru (pvalue
0.000). The conclusion of this study is adherence to taking antidiabetic drugs
significanly controlled blood glucose levels.
