Pengelolaan Kawasan Permukiman Berkelanjutan Di Kecamatan Mandau Kabupaten Bengkalis Provinsi Riau
Mandau Sub-district has experienced a process of rapid but irregular (random), uncontrolled and unplanned physical growth which is marked by the emergence of new unorganized settlement areas. The physical growth of residential areas in its management has not taken into account the integrated economic, social and ecological aspects. As a result of this neglect, residential areas experience environmental degradation. The rapid development of residential areas results in high pressure and conflicts of interest in the management of residential areas.
Until now, the development of residential areas that have occurred is quite disturbing, which is indicated by symptoms such as congestion, flooding, slums, air pollution or drought. This problem becomes important in the management of space and on the use of space based on the carrying capacity and capacity of the environment with increasingly dense regional conditions, especially residential areas, so that a management that includes effective and comprehensive policies in an integrated manner is needed.
This study aims to analyze the condition of the settlement area in Mandau District, Bengkalis Regency, analyze the index and sustainability status of the residential area in Mandau District, Bengkalis Regency, formulate the right strategy for the sustainability of residential areas in Mandau District, Bengkalis Regency. This research is descriptive using a quantitative approach. Through this approach, the researchers tried to get the magnitude of the sustainability status of the residential area of Mandau District, Bengkalis Regency based on the ecological, social, economic and institutional dimensions. Data collection techniques in this study were through direct observation, distributing research questionnaires and through interviews. The sample in this study were 100 respondents.
Based on the results of the study, it is known that the condition of the settlement area in Mandau District, Bengkalis Regency, namely the population density in the settlement has medium criteria, building density has medium criteria, sufficient clean water availability, 50-70% built land area in Mandau District, availability of green open space (RTH). ) in Mandau Subdistrict is not sufficient (
