Senior High School Teachers’ Perceptions On The Use Of Google Classroom In English Learning Amid The Covid-19 Pandemic In Mandau Sub-District
The education sector has been currently facing the impact of COVID-19, which requires all teaching and learning activities to be carried out online. Of course, this is a demand for teachers in choosing learning media with an online learning system. Many applications can be used as media in teaching during this pandemic, one of which is Google Classroom. In several schools in Mandau, the teachers started to use Google Classroom after the pandemic. Of course, this is something new for these teachers that will cause issues and perceptions. This study aimed to determine the perception of English teachers in using Google Classroom during the COVID-19 pandemic. This research used the descriptive quantitative method. In this research, the data collection technique was a questionnaire which consists of 20 statements. The sample of this research is 41 English teachers who have used Google Classroom for at least two semesters. The findings indicate that the teachers have positive perceptions of using Google Classroom in English learning amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Based on the result, the teachers felt that using Google Classroom in online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic was effective because the application was a good way or alternative way to do the learning activity. Therefore, Google Classroom facilitated the teacher and made it easier to teach English during the COVID-19 pandemic.
