ABSTRACT
This study aims to analyze production costs, income, efficiency, added value,
Break Even Point, determine the aspects of agroindustry and analyze development
strategies of sago noodle agroindustry, rendang sago agroindustry and sago
cracker agroindustry. The location of this research is in Tebing Tinggi District,
Meranti Islands Regency. The results of this study are the added value obtained by
sago noodles of Rp. 5.526/Kg, sago rendang Rp. 5.853/Kg and sago crackers of
Rp. 21,195/Kg. After that, strategies that can be carried out in the sago noodle
agroindustry are: 1) Increasing the continuity of raw materials and maintaining the
existing market, 2) Promoting in collaboration with gift shops, 3) Product
packaging and consumer demand to compete with similar industries, 4) Increasing
the amount of raw materials to meet consumer demand , 5) Maintaining product
quality and quality to face market competition and sago noodle producers.
Strategies that can be carried out in the sago rendang agroindustry are: 1)
Maintaining product quality and quality to face market competition and rendang
sago producers, 2) Improving product quality in order to compete with similar
industries, 3) Promoting in collaboration with gift shops, 4) Recruiting workers in
accordance with their fields, 5) Looking for alternative raw materials. Strategies
that can be carried out in the sago cracker agroindustry are: 1) Maintaining
product quality and quality to face market competition and sago cracker
producers, 2) Maintaining quality and increasing product quantity, 3)
Collaborating with partners as suppliers of supporting materials and product sales
agents, 4) Introducing and expanding the marketing of existing products to new
markets, 5) Looking for alternative supporting materials.
