Faktor – Faktor Yang Memengaruhi Kepatuhan Konsumsi Obat Antidiabetik Oral Pada Pasien Diabetes Melitus Tipe 2 Di Puskesmas Tenayan Raya Kota Pekanbaru
Diabetes Mellitus is a metabolic disease characterized by
hyperglycemia and caused by impaired insulin secretion, impaired
insulin action, or both. Controlled blood sugar levels in diabetes
mellitus patients is very important and one of the factors that affect is
the patient's drug consumption adherence. The purpose of this study
was to determine the adherence level and factors that affect adherence
to oral antidiabetic consumption of patients with diabetes mellitus type
2 at the Tenayan Raya Public Health Center Pekanbaru. This research
is a descriptive observational study with a consecutive sampling method
with 55 respondents. Sample of this study was type 2 diabetes mellitus
patients at the Tenayan Raya Public Health Center Pekanbaru City and
had oral antidiabetic treatment.Level of adherence was measured using
the MMAS-8 questionnaire and the affecting factors were identified
using a questionnaire to identify factors of adherence behavior.The
level of adherence is expressed in terms of percentages, while the results
of factors affect adherence are analyzed by finding the mean value of
the factors in the questionnaire. The results showed that 49.09% of
patients were patients with low adherence. The results of factors that
most support patient adherence are medical staff support factors (mean
3.7), cost (mean 3.67), and belief of medicine (mean 3.62). Meanwhile,
the factors that become obstacles in patient adherence are social
support factors (2.69), emotional (mean 2.74), and belief of illness
(mean 2.96). Identification of these factors can be used as an evaluation
by health workers in providing appropriate services for patients.
