Modalitas Incumbent Dalam Pemilihan Kepala Desa Di Desa Mugomulyo Kecamatan Sungai Batang Kabupaten Indragiri Hilir Tahun 2019
Mugomulyo Village is a new village resulting from the division of Benteng
Barat Village, Sungai Batang District, Indragiri Hiilir Regency, Riau in 2011. In
2012 Drs. Romdon was elected as the Head of Mugomulyo Village. During the
reign of Drs. Romdon, Mugomulyo Village is hit by the problem of community
plantations which are always flooded when the rainy season arrives which makes
plantation yields decline and is exacerbated by the failure of the palmation program
which has an impact on community plantations resulting in a decline in the
community's economy. Although the plantation problem has not been resolved, it
does not necessarily make Drs. Romdon failed to maintain his position as village
head. In 2019 Drs. Romdon managed to maintain his position as village head by
defeating 4 other candidates.
This study aims to determine the extent of the influence of the Incumbent
modality in the acquisition of vote results in the Village Head Election in
Mugomulyo Village in 2019. The approach used in this study is a qualitative
approach with a descriptive type of research. The location of this research was
conducted in Mugomulyo Village, Sungai Batang District, Indragiri Hilir Regency.
Data collection techniques were carried out by interview and documentation.
The results of this study are that the incumbent modality greatly affects the
incumbent's vote acquisition in the Village Head Election in Mugomulyo Village in
2019. The success of the incumbent's strategy in optimizing the modality also has
an influence on the incumbent's vote acquisition. In addition to factors from the
modalities and strategies of the incumbent, many candidates for village head who
come forward also influence the success of the incumbent in winning the Village
Head Election.
