Gambaran Hemostasis Darah Pada Pasien Diabetes Melitus Tipe 2 Yang Menjalani Hemodialisis Di Rsud Arifin Achmad Provinsi Riau Periode Januari 2015 – Desember 2020
Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a group of metabolic diseases characterized by
hyperglycemia resulting from defects in insulin secretion, insulin action, or both.
One of the complications in DM is diabetic nephropathy and it’s the most
common cause of patients receiving hemodialysis. Diabetic patients undergoing
hemodialysis considered can have blood hemostasis abnormalities. Hemostasis is
a complex and continuous process in preventing spontaneous blood loss and
stopping bleeding in damaged blood vessels. This study aimed to describe of
blood hemostasis in type 2 DM patients undergoing hemodialysis at the Arifin
Achmad Hospital, Riau Province in January 2015 - December 2020. This was a
retrospective descriptive study with a cross sectional approach. The data were
obtained from medical record. There were 117 subjects fulfilled the inclusion and
exclusion criteria and consists of 62 males (53%). The highest age group
distribution is 46-55 age group (32,5%). This study found that was 70,9%
Prothrombin Time (PT) test in patient are prolonged. Meanwhile, the results of
the Activated Partial Thromboplastin Time (APTT) test in most patients (55.6%)
are prolonged too. This study also found that platelet count in patient are normal
(53.8%). PT and APTT test showed prolongation but did not exceed the critical
value (twice the normal value). However, this study suggests evaluating clinical
symptoms in patients.
