Karakteristik Pemeliharaan Koloni Geniotrigona Thoracica Di Kebun Buah Kandi Desa Salak Kota Sawahlunto

Geniotrigona thoracica is a stingless bee bred in Kebun Buah Kandi.
Stingless bee productivity is depending on various natural resources. Hence, the
higher frequency and density of natural reources, the more honey produced. This
research had been conducted in March 2021 at Kebun Buah Kandi, Sawahlunto
City. The purposes of this study were to analyze the distribution of natural
resources that support the colony of Geniotrigona thoracica and to see the amount
of honey produced based on resource vegetation. The study used purposive
sampling technique for vegetation analysis, while environmental factors were
measured using Thermohygrometer and lux meter. Structured interview was used
to gain information regarding the honey production. The Important Value Index
for plant species was determined at each transect, in which the seedlings were
dominated by Pseuderanthemum reticulatum (INP value = 169.61) at transect 2.
The saplings were dominated by Hylocereus undatus (INP value = 194.06) at
transect 3 and tree plants were dominated by Acacia auriculiformis (INP value =
105.11) at transect 2. Keep the colony in an area that already has abundant natural
resources so the colony does not lack natural resourcers and get maximum honey
production.
