Students’ Perception Of The Implementation Of Online Learning During The Pandemic Of Covid-19
The pandemic of Covid-19 has given a big impact on education in Indonesia, from face-to-face learning to online learning. This is a qualitative descriptive study of students’ perception of the implementation of online learning during the pandemic of Covid-19. There were eight students of English Study Program Universitas Riau involved in this study, selected using the purposive sampling technique. The data were recorded through interview and documentation. The recorded perceptions are in terms of students’ participation, accessibility, and material and assignment delivery. The data showed that students’ perception tend to be negative. Even if students perceive online learning is a good choice to prevent the spread of coronavirus and improve their technology skill, but they were not really enthusiastic to the implementation of online learning. There are four major obstacles they faced, such as internet access, teaching method, limited interaction, and material and assignment delivery. Then, the obstacles become their challenges. Furthermore, students in English Study Program Universitas Riau hoped online learning would end soon and teaching and learning process back to face-to-face learning.
