Rancang Bangun Antena Patch Mikrostrip Fleksibel Menggunakan Substrat Polydimethylsiloxane Untuk Aplikasi Pendeteksi Tumor Pada Payudara
ABSTRACT
Breast cancer is a type of cancer that is very scary for women around the world,
also in Indonesia. Knowing as early as possible the early symptoms of cancer is a
preventive measure to reduce the death rate from cancer. The microwave imaging
system is one of the technologies that can be used to detect objects, especially in
the field of medical diagnosis, where the technology used is Ultrawideband (UWB).
One of the elements used in the system is the antenna. The latest development of
antennas today is a flexible microstrip antenna that can be applied to the human
body. This flexible microstrip antenna can perform deformations such as bending,
stretching, and twisting. So that this antenna can adapt to the shape of a complex
object such as the human body. In this study, a flexible microstrip antenna was
designed using a PDMS dielectric substrate material that operates at a frequency
of 5.8 GHz. The results of the antenna simulation are return loss parameters with
a value of -39.19 dB, bandwidth of 3.1 GHz, VSWR of 1.22, the radiation pattern of
the nearly omnidirectional antenna, and gain of 2.26 dBi. The antenna is simulated
with a breast phantom based on the scenario of the position and condition of the
tumor. The simulation results show that the presence of tumors is influenced by the
high value of the antenna's time-domain amplitude. The antenna fabrication
process is done manually using molding techniques. The results of the antenna
fabrication were measured using VNA and tested to obtain the parameters of the
results based on the level of flexibility of the antenna. The measured antenna
flexibility is the effect of bending and stretching. Antenna measurements with a
breast phantom yielded time domain parameter values, where a higher amplitude
indicates the presence of a tumor.
