Kaji Eksperimental Pengaruh Beban Dan Variasi Pin Terhadap Laju Keausan Dan Koefisien Gesek Pada Dry Contact Pin-On-Disc
ABSTRACT
Every moving equipment is always damaged. This is due to the presence of two
objects that are in contact or rubbing against each other. The main problem faced
by the industrial world so far is how to reduce or prevent losses due to friction.
This friction can cause damage or loss of particles from a material called wear.
There is a science that studies friction, wear, and lubrication. The science that
studies this is called Tribology. There are several factors that affect wear, namely
rotational speed, surface roughness and material hardness. In previous studies,
tests have been carried out using pin material made of steel and disc material
made of acrylic, and without variations in load. However, there has been no
research using ST37 material using load variations and pin variations. Therefore,
this final project aims to determine the comparison of the wear rate and coefficient
of friction of the load variation and pin variation. This research was conducted
using a Pin-on-Disc tribometer with a dry contact test. From this study, the
highest wear rate values for hemispherical pin variations with a load of 2 kg, 4 kg,
and 8 kg respectively were 4.60687×10-14 m3/Nm, 5.45264×10-14 m3/Nm, and
1.69738×10-13 m3/Nm. While on the flat pin cylinder the highest wear rate values
at a load of 2 kg, 4 kg, and 8 kg are 7.80761×10-14 m3/Nm, 1.58507×10-13 m3/Nm,
and 3.74686 ×10-13 m3/Nm.
