Pengaruh Frekuensi Pemberian Pupuk Hayati Dengan Jarak Tanam Yang Berbeda Terhadap Pertumbuhan Dan Hasil Tanaman Ubi Jalar (Ipomoea Batatas L.)
ABSTRACT
Sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas L.) is an important carbohydrate source crop in
Indonesia's food diversification program. Its production declined from 2020 to
2021, in line with a decrease in harvested area. One effort to improve the
productivity of this crop is by optimizing planting spacing and applying
biofertilizers containing microorganisms that play a role in decomposing organic
matter and supplying nutrients to plants. This study aims to determine the effect of
the combination of planting spacing and the frequency of biofertilizer application
on the growth and yield of sweet potato plants. The research was conducted
experimentally using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with six treatment,
P1 = 10 ml of biofertilizer (applied 3 times) + plant spacing of 75 × 20 cm; P2 =
10 ml of biofertilizer (applied 4 times) + plant spacing of 75 × 20 cm; P3 = 10 ml
of biofertilizer (applied 3 times) + plant spacing of 75 × 25 cm; P4 = 10 ml of
biofertilizer (applied 4 times) + plant spacing of 75 × 25 cm; P5 = 10 ml of
biofertilizer (applied 3 times) + plant spacing of 75 × 30 cm; P6 = 10 ml of
biofertilizer (applied 4 times) + plant spacing of 75 × 30 cm., each with 10 ml per
application and three replications. The combination of treatments and replications
resulted in 18 experimental units. The parameters observed in this study included
the number of branches per plant, days to harvest, number of tubers per plant,
tuber diameter per plant, tuber weight per plant, fresh shoot weight per plant,
number of tubers per plot, tuber weight per plot, and harvest index. The collected
data were subjected to statistical analysis using analysis of variance (ANOVA).
When significant differences were detected, further comparison among treatment
means was conducted using Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at the 5%
significance level. The results showed that a planting spacing of 75 x 30 cm
combined with 3 or 4 applications of biofertilizer significantly improved the
number of branches, fresh shoot weight, number and diameter of tubers, as well as
the harvest index of sweet potato plants.
