Inventarisasi Ikan Famili Channidae Di Desa Mentulik Sungai Kampar Kiri Provinsi Riau
The Kampar River is one of the important rivers located in Riau Province, where it is formed by the confluence of two nearly equally large rivers, namely the Kampar Kiri River and the Kampar Kanan River. The Kampar Kiri River is a watercourse where the fish species commonly found are primarily edible fish, making this river one of the centers of fisheries production in Riau. The Channidae family consists of two genera: Channa and Parachanna. The aim of this study is to identify the number of fish species from the Channidae family based on morphological characteristics in Mentulik Village, Kampar Kiri River. This research was conducted from October to December 2024 in Mentulik Village, Kampar Kiri River. Sampling was carried out in the morning. The inventory of fish samples was conducted at the Zoology Laboratory, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Riau. The research conducted in the Kampar Kiri River, Mentulik Village, recorded a total of 175 individuals from the Channidae family, consisting of three species: Channa striata (striped snakehead) with 85 individuals (49%), Channa micropeltes (giant snakehead) with 39 individuals (22%), and Channa lucius (forest snakehead) with 51 individuals (29%). The most commonly found species of the Channidae family is Channa striata (striped snakehead) with a percentage of 49%, while the least found freshwater species is Channa micropeltes (giant snakehead) with a percentage of 22%.
