ABSTRACT
Pelalawan Regency is one of the areas in Riau Province where forest and land
fires often occur, especially during the dry season. In order to realize Social and
Environmental Responsibility, PT. Arara Abadi carries out a forest and land fire
prevention program with the community around the concession which is
integrated with the empowerment community program. The purpose of this
research was to determine the attempt to prevent forest and land fires by PT. Arara
Abadi with the community around the industrial plantation forest concession in
Pelalawan Regency and knowing the success and obstacles of forest and land fire
prevention programs implemented with communities around concessions in
reducing the occurrence of forest and land fires. The research data was collected
through in-depth interviews, participatory observation/direct observations on
burnt land, and documentation studies. The data analysis in this research was
carried out descriptive qualitative. The results showed that PT. Arara Abadi
through the empowerment community program is Desa Makmur Peduli Api
(DMPA) the activities are goat farming, tilapia cultivation, cayenne pepper
cultivation, motorcycle repair shop, and the Masyarakat Peduli Api (MPA)
coaching program.
