Adaptasi Pemanfaatan Lahan Gambut Berbasis Agroforestri Di Riau
ABSTRACT
This study aims to identify the adaptation of peat land use in Riau
Province and identify agroforestry-based peat land use in Riau Province. The
method used in this research is snowball sampling. The key informant in this
study was the village head. Head of Dayun Village, head of Pulau Muda Village,
and head of Pulau Burung Village as village representatives. Utilization of the
peatlands of the three villages has been started since 1940. The community used
to carry out non-permanent management called nomadic or shifting cultivation.
The community has now made permanent use of the same land or permanent
fields. The community has local wisdom in choosing land to be used.
Communities in Riau Province, namely Pulau Muda Village, Dayun Village, and
Pulau Burung Village have used peat land as a place to grow crops, both
agricultural, plantation and forestry crops. Over time, the community experienced
changes in the land use system. This change adjusts to various factors in order to
increase the productivity value obtained. Adaptations that occurred in the research
location included changes in planting patterns from monoculture to implementing
an agroforestry system.
