As the only community of genre blues music in Pekanbaru and a community
formed from several different grub bands, the Community Blues Pekanbaru Night
certainly has a strategy in maintaining solidarity in its community. Solidarity in a
community has an important role in order to establish good cooperation to
maintain the sustainability of the community. In the interaction of community
communication, it will form a pattern of interaction in the Community Blues
Pekanbaru Night. This communication pattern will eventually form cohesiveness in
the community which aims to maintain Community solidarity. This study aims to
determine the role of group communication actors, messages exchanged,
interaction patterns, group cohesiveness, and group norms of the Community Blues
Pekanbaru Night.
This study uses a descriptive method using a qualitative approach, namely
a research process and understanding based on a research methodology that
investigates a social phenomenon and human problem. The informants in this study
were 15 people who were taken based on the technique purposive. Data collection
techniques were carried out through interviews, observation, and documentation.
In this study, the authors used Miles and Huberman's interactive data analysis
techniques, where the data obtained from observations and interviews were
reprocessed by the authors who then entered the data reduction stage. strengthened
while data that is not needed is discarded. The technique of checking the validity of
the data is by using extended participation and triangulation.
This research was conducted based on the results, interviews, observations
and documentation, so it can be concluded that group communication has proven
to play a major role in maintaining solidarity in the Community Blues Pekanbaru
Night. Group communication that occurs in the Community Blues Pekanbaru Night
can be seen in the elements of group communication that occur in the community.
The role of communicators, messages are delivered, patterns of interaction, group
cohesiveness and group norms in Community Blues Pekanbaru Night indicates that
the Community Blues Night Pekanbaru communication and interaction in an open
and reciprocal without any restrictions for every member of the community.
Furthermore, the communication network pattern applied in the Community Blues
Pekanbaru Night uses an pattern all channel , so that all members have the same
role in communication. This causes the community to be able to establish a sense
of kinship and cohesiveness within the community, which in turn can maintain
solidarity within the community.
