Biopelet Dari Limbah Serutan Rotan Dan Serbuk Gergaji Campuran Dengan Menggunakan Perekat Tapioka Sebagai Bahan Bakar Alternatif
ABSTRACT
Biopellet is a solid fuel that can be used as an alternative fuel to replace fossil fuels. Rattan shavings and mixed sawdust can be used as raw materials for making biopellets. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct research on biopellets from waste rattan powder and mixed sawdust with various powder sizes and powder compositions. This research was conducted with the aim of knowing the characteristics of biopellets from rattan powder and sawdust mixed with the addition of tapioca adhesive. This study used a factorial completely randomized design (CRD) with two factors consisting of 15 treatment combinations and three replications. The mixed rattan and sawdust powder was dried for 3 days then crushed; filtered and then mixed with adhesive after it was printed, the last parameter was tested. The results of this study indicate that the density, moisture content, and volatile matter content meet SNI 8021:2014 but the ash content of the biopellet does not meet SNI 8021:2014. The best biopellet composition was obtained in the H1P5 treatment with a powder size of 20 mesh and a powder composition of 70% mixed sawdust and 30% rattan shavings with a density of 1.04 g/cm3, water content 10.56%, volatile matter content 71.33%, content 6.36% ash and calorific value 5.251.73 cal/g. Keywords: Biopellet, rattan shavings, mixed sawdust, tapioca adhesive, alternative energy
