Analisis Defect Product Polyethylene (Pe) 15m Pada Mesin Blown Film Di In House Packaging
ABSTRACT
Polyethylene 15M is a thermoplastic polymer that is widely used by the industry as a product wrapping material. One of the product quality parameters can be seen from the physical appearance of the product wrapping. About 80 million metric tons of this plastic are produced annually. Blown film machine is a tool used for product wrapping with 15M Polyethylene using a blowing and extrusion process. The purpose of this final project is to study the effect of extruder temperature on defects in the PE 15M product in the blown film machine, as well as to study the efforts to prevent defects in the PE-15M film product in the blown film machine. Based on the results of the analysis that has been carried out, it can be seen that the extruder temperature affects the defect in the PE-15M product in the blown film machine. The low extrude temperature (180°C) causes the 15M PE raw material to not melt evenly, it takes a temperature of 185°C to 187°C so that the PE ISM melts evenly. Meanwhile, high temperatures when producing products can cause raw materials to burn. The Efforts to prevent defects in the PE-15M film product in the blown film machine are by arranging the location and storage containers for the product so that it is not exposed to water and direct sunlight. In addition, to improve the performance of the blown film machine, it can be done by cleaning the extruder from the remnants of the material before use. Keywords : blown film, defect, polyethylene
