Hubungan Polimorfisme -174g/C Pada Promoter Gen Interleukin-6 Terhadap Status Hbsag Donor Darah Di Utd Pmi Kota Pekanbaru

YUHARTI WIDIASTUTI / 1808112244 - Nama Orang;

Hepatitis B is a disease caused by infection with the hepatitis B virus (HBV), which is a DNA virus from the Hepadnaviridae family. Hepatitis B can be a long-term chronic infection that can lead to serious, even life-threatening health problems such as cirrhosis or liver cancer. This study aims to determine the relationship between the - 174G/C polymorphism in the IL-6 gene promoter and HBsAg status in blood donors at UTD PMI Pekanbaru City. This research is analytical with a case control study design and was carried out from August 2021 to January 2022. IL-6 gene polymorphisms were detected by Amplification Refractory Mutation System- Polymerase Chain Reaction (ARMS-PCR). The total sample used was 86 samples consisting of 43 samples with reactive HBsAg status and 43 samples with nonreactive HBsAg status. The results of this study showed that the majority of research subjects had a GG genotype of 96.5% and a GC genotype of 3.5%, and there were no research subjects found to have a CC genotype in the IL-6 -174G/C gene polymorphism. Respondents with the G allele were 98.3% while respondents with the C allele were 1.7%. Statistical analysis showed that there was no significant correlation between genotype and allele polymorphism of the IL-6 gene (-174G/C) with HBsAg status. The conclusion of this study was that there was no significant correlation between the IL-6 -174G/C polymorphism gene and HBsAg status of blood donors at UTD PMI Pekanbaru City.
