Penentuan Kinerja Kompor Bertungku Dengan Bahan Bakar Dari Campuran Minyak Jelantah Dan Spiritus
ABSTRACT Kerosene has recently been scarce and the price is relatively expensive, therefore this study aims to find alternative fuels to replace kerosene for stoves with stoves, namely fuel from a mixture of used cooking oil and spiritus. In order to get the best performance of the burner stove that is fueled by a mixture of used cooking oil and spirit, the variation of the ratio of the used cooking oil and spirit mixture was 9:1; 8:2 ; 7:3 ; 6:4 ; and 5:5. Previously, every liter of used cooking oil was given an adsorbent with 15 grams of wood charcoal, then the separation between the adsorbent of wood charcoal and used cooking oil was carried out by filtering using gauze, then the fuel mixture was analyzed before and after use. The performance of the alternative fuel burner stove is determined based on the color of the flame, the time it takes to boil 1 liter of water and the time it takes for 1 liter of fuel to burn out. The results showed that the best performance of the stove with a stove with a 9:1 variation was that it had a blue-yellow flame color, the time to boil 1 liter of water was 22 minutes 15 seconds and the time required for 1 liter of fuel to burn out was 5 hours 8 minutes. While the characteristics of this fuel include a density of 0.945 g/cm3, viscosity 66.566 mm2/s, heating value 38.750.32 J/kg and flash point 52oC.
