Abstrak
In the process of making tofu, wastewater will be produced which has a high protein content and is acidic, so it can cause environmental pollution. One method that can be used to reduce environmental pollution is to use moringa seed coagulants. From these problems, research was carried out on tofu wastewater treatment using Moringa seeds as coagulants. This study aims to study the effect of variations in the mass of Moringa seed coagulants and the percentage decrease in the ratio, TSS and pH on the wastewater treatment of tofu. The non-fixed variable used in the study was the weight of Moringa seeds with a mass of 3:4:5 grams per liter of tofu wastewater. While the fixed variables are the stirring speed (fast stirring for 2 minutes and slow stirring for 5 minutes) and the settling time for 3 hours. The results showed a process of decreasing turbidity and TSS parameters in tofu wastewater. The best variety is The best variations are in the coagulant mass of Moringa seeds of 5 grams with a turbidity value of 75 FTU, TSS of 27 mg / l and pH of 3.9. The best percentage decrease was also found in the mass of 5 grams with a percentage value of turbidity reduction of 81.48%, TSS of 95.95% and pH of 5.40%.
