Prarancangan Pabrik Ammonia Dari Hidrokarbon Dan Udara Dengan Proses Kbr Dengan Disain Alat Utama Ammonia Converter
Ammonia is one of the most widely used materials in human life, such as raw materials for making fertilizers, refrigerants, pharmaceuticals, and others. The main raw materials for ammonia using the KBR (Kellog Braun and Root) process are hydrocarbons and air. The KBR (Kellogg Braun and Root) process is a process with lower energy consumption and higher ammonia purity. This ammonia factory is planned to be built in the Dumai area, Riau with a production capacity of 350,000 tons / year with an operating time of 330 days / year and works 24 hours / day. The remaining 35 days of the year are spent on plant maintenance and repairs. The main design tool in this factory is the ammonia converter which is used for the synthesis of ammonia from N2 and H2. This ammonia converter operates in temperatures of 450⁰C and a pressure of 150 bar. The economic analysis of this ammonia plant has a BEP (Break Event Point) of 25% and a PBP (Pay Back Period) of 1,8 years. Based on this economic analysis, the ammonia plant from hydrocarbons and air using the KBR process is very feasible to be established.
