Strategi Komunikasi Pemerintah Kota Pekanbaru Dalam City Branding Pekanbaru Sebagai Smart City Madani Tahun 2017-2022
This research departs from the phenomena and problems regarding the Pekanbaru City Government Communication strategy in Pekanbaru City Branding as a Smart City Madani, where there are still many people who do not know what Pekanbaru Smart City Madani is, because so far the socialization of Smart City Madani is still generally not specific. , In realizing the Pekanbaru Smart City Madani, of course describing an area with a civil society, but there is still abuse of public space and green space, such as in the Riau main stadium, there are still many dimly lit stalls operating, of course this does not reflect the City Branding of Pekanbaru as a Smart City. Madani. The purpose of this study was to determine the communication of the Pekanbaru City Government in Pekanbaru City Branding as a Smart City Madani, and to determine the Application of Smart City Madani as City Branding in Pekanbaru City.
In this study the authors used descriptive qualitative research methods. Descriptive research does not provide treatment, manipulation or change to the variables studied, but describes a condition as it is related to the Pekanbaru City Government Communication strategy in Pekanbaru City Branding as a Smart City Madani. Primary data in this study is data obtained from informants through field interviews about the Pekanbaru City Government Communication Strategy in Pekanbaru City Branding as a Smart City Madani. The secondary data in this study are: Pekanbaru Madani Book, 2021 Central Statistics Agency data.
The results of this study are: First, the communication strategy of the Pekanbaru city government in Pekanbaru City Branding as a Smart City Madani is quite optimal. It can be seen from primary communication, the development carried out by the Pekanbaru City government related to urban design, public space, green space, and infrastructure is adequate. Then from secondary communication, the Pekanbaru city government communicates Smart City Madani through city events and Pekanbaru city anniversaries, and also through the Pekanbaru city Madani monument at the Sultan Syarif Qasyim II Airport Intersection. However, tertiary communication has not been achieved because Smart City Madani has not been discussed in the community, because the concept for the community is not important, this is due to a lack of public understanding regarding Smart City Madani. Second, the application of Smart City Madani as City Branding in Pekanbaru City is still not optimal. Because there are several aspects that have not been achieved, namely Well Funded, even though the RPJMD is a guide, namely through the SKPD which submits a budget proposal to the City Government in realizing a Smart City Madani. But in practice the problem is funding or budget. Then Care And Discipline In Communicating Brand, because in an effort to communicate this smart city, there are several dimensions of smart city that have not been achieved, namely Smart Environment and Smart People.
