Prarancangan Pabrik Asam Asetat Dengan Proses Chiyoda / Uop Acetica Dan Disain Alat Utama Kolom Absorber Offgas Reaktor
Acetic acid industry in Indonesia is one of the chemical industries that has good prospects. Acetic acid product has a fairly wide market, such as the Purified Terephthalic Acid (PTA) industry, the ethyl acetate industry and the textile industry. Acetic acid, as the main product, manufactured using Acetica process through carbonylation reaction of methanol, with heterogeneous Rhodium catalyst equipped with support polyvinyl pyridine resin as catalyst support and methyl iodide (CH3I) as promoter. The results of economic analysis from the Acetic Acid Plant with the Chiyoda Process/UOP AceticaTM plant design are (1) TCI (Total Capital Investment) required for the establishment of this plant is Rp. 450,242,207.361. (2) PBP (Payback Period) from plant investment is 2.91 years. (3) ROROI (Rate of Return on Investment) from plant investment is 42.948%. (4) IRR (Interest Rate of Return) of plant investment is 29.174%. In addition, the mechanical design of the reactor offgas absorption column was also carried out, which absorbed CO2 gas from reactor output with methanol as absorbent. From the mechanical design, packed column height is 12.5 m, outer diameter of the column is 0.86 m, and packed column support system uses a cylindrical skirt with base ring configuration in the form of chair support with double gussets.
