Pembuatan Sabun Padat Dari Ampas Kopi Dengan Campuran Tepung Beras Dan Bubuk Kunyit
ABSTRACT
Soap is a mixture of oil with alkali through a process of saponification. The addition of coffee grounds, rice flour and turmeric powder is expected to increase the benefits of solid soap. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of adding coffee grounds with rice flour and turmeric powder on the manufacture of solid soap and to determine the characteristics of solid soap from coffee grounds with a mixture of rice flour and turmeric powder by testing pH, water content, insoluble ethanol, free alkali or acid. free fat, foam stability, organoleptic test and irritation test. The initial step is to make a 50% NaOH solution, then measure 15 ml of palm oil, 10 ml of coconut oil and 10 ml of olive oil using a 50 ml measuring cup. Then put these 3 types of oil in a 500 ml beaker. This oil mixture is heated using a hotplate with a temperature of up to 70oC. The temperature was measured using a thermometer while stirring using a stirrer. Then enter 15 mL of cold 50% NaOH solution into the oil mixture while stirring evenly and make sure the temperature remains constant. After 3 minutes of stirring, the soap mixture reached a trace condition. Then add 20 mL of hot distilled water into this soap mixture while stirring. After this mixture is stirred evenly then add coffee powder, rice flour, turmeric powder each 1,3,5,7,9 grams according to operating conditions and 5 ml of fragrance coffee. After the mixture is homogeneous, the soap is ready to be put into the mold. This study used 5 treatments of adding mass, each coffee grounds, rice flour and turmeric powder (1 g, 3 g, 5 g, 7 g and 9 g). From the analysis of the pH test value of the resulting soap, which is in the range of 9.5 - 10.3, the water content test value produced is in the range of 0.51 - 2.2%, the test value of the insoluble material in ethanol is 10 - 36%, the alkali test value After being dripped with the phenolphthalein indicator, no free alkaline content was detected, so a free fatty acid test was carried out with a value range of 1.13 - 2.54%, the value of the stability test for the resulting soap foam was in the range of 80 - 92.98%. The results of the skin irritation test after use showed that the five soaps produced did not cause irritation to the volunteer's skin and were safe to use. Based on the results of the research, the characteristics of solid soap have met the quality requirements for soap, but in the test of the insoluble material in ethanol, 5 treatments did not meet the soap quality requirements according to SNI 2016.
