Pabrik Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (Abs) Dengan Proses Emulsion Dengan Disain Alat Utama Reaktor Polimerisasi (Batch Stirred Tank Reactor)
ABSTRACT
Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) is a copolymer styrene, acrylonitrile and polybutadiene. Acrylonitrile monomer is stable at -20oC to 100oC and resistant to corrosive chemicals, impact resistance and toughness properties of butadiene, combined with the rigidity of styrene, to obtain ABS properties, namely impact resistance and toughness. The addition of methyl methacrylate produces transparent ABS with the highest impact resistance than styrenic types. Based on the raw materials, ABS has the advantage of being easy to glue, corrosion resistance, and can be designed into various shapes. The ABS factory is planned to be built in the Tanjung Buton industrial area, Sei Apit District, Riau Province, with a construction period of 3 years starting from 2022 to 2025. The ABS plant capacity is 115,000 tons / year, according to the average capacity of ABS factories in Asia 120,000 tonnes / year. The main design tool in this design is the butadiene polymerization reactor (R-101). The reactor used in the polybutadiene production process is a batch stirred tank reactor. Polybutadiene production is carried out in 4 stages until a conversion of 99.5% is obtained. The feasibility of establishing an ABS factory must be done by conducting an economic analysis. The results obtained were BEP of 24.1%; ROI 67.5%; IRR 37.4% and pay out time for 1.3 years. Based on the results of the economic feasibility analysis, this ABS factory was declared feasible to built.
