ABSTRACT
Diphenylamine is a byproduct of an aniline in which the amine is enhanced between two phenyl groups. Diphenylamine is used as a fixative for colors, a pharmaceutical ingredient, a product preservative in the agricultural industry, an explosive, and a smell in the beauty industry. The purpose of the establishment of diphenylamine is to produce diphenylamine to meet domestic diphenylamine needs to reduce dependence on imports and save budgets, make Indonesia one of the producers of diphenylamine, increase foreign exchange and reduce the number of movements in Indonesia by creating new jobs. The capacity of the diphenylamine plant was determined to be 10,000 tons per year during the design of this plant. The major design a Fixed Bed Multitube Reactor (R-101). The factory located in Sanggau Regency, West Kalimantan Province. The BEP (Break Even Point) value for the proposed diphenylamine plant is 32%, and the total capital investment (TCI) is Rp. 93,554,719,334.88, with the intention of boosting the economy and enhancing the community. The BEP value is 55 and range of 30-55%, and the ROI (Return on Investment) value obtained is 23.99%. The ROI value ranges from 16-24%, and the Internal Rate of Return (IRR) is 22.6837%. The IRR value must be greater than the Required Rate of Return (RRR) value, the payback period (PBP) for 3.01 years. A factory is whether the PBP value is possible or not. The capital should not operate for more than five years.
