Struktur Komunitas Diatom Epizoik Pada Siput Cerithidea Obtusa Dan Nerita Articulata Di Ekosistem Mangrove Kota Dumai Provinsi Riau
ABSTRACT
Dumai is one of the cities in Riau Province that has various ecosystems, especially mangrove ecosystems and aquatic ecosystems. Dumai's mangrove ecosystem is still quite good, where in the ecosystem organisms will adapt and have a reciprocal relationship with their environment to survive. Increasing community activities in the area of mangrove ecosystems and waters are closely related to environmental changes so that they have a bad impact on organisms including diatoms. Diatoms are microalgae that are widely distributed throughout the aquatic environment and even found in the terrestrial environment, the moist surface of rocks, some types of plants and in animal shells. Diatoms are found in various habitats, namely marine ecosystems, fresh waters, on moist soil surfaces, and even on the outer wall of ships to snail shells called epizoic diatoms. In the dumai mangrove ecosystem there are several types of snails, one of which is the snail Cerithide obtusa and Nerita articulata where the shells of the two snails become a substrate for sticking epizoic diatoms. The results of his research are that there are 13 epizoic diatomous genera consisting of 5 genera of centrales and 8 pennales of pennales. The highest abundance of epizoic diatoms in the C. obtusa snail shell was found at station II. While the abundance of epizoic diatoms in the shells of N. articulata snails is highest at station I. Based on the average value of the diversity index (H'), the dominance index (D) and the uniformity index (E) it can be concluded that the epizoic diatoms in the snail shells of C. obtusa and N. articulata have a moderate balance value of the biota community, the quality of the polluted waters is moderate, there is no dominating type and the uniformity of organisms is not balanced and the uniformity of organisms is not balanced and there is food competition.
