Prarancangan Pabrik Asam Lemak Dari Cpo (Crude Palm Oil) Menggunakan Proses Hidrolisis Dengan Disain Alat Utama Menara Distilasi Asam Palmitat
ABSTRACT
Palm oil is Indonesia's mainstay commodity which plays an important role in the economic development of the Indonesian nation. One of the products produced from the oleochemical industry is fatty acid. Palmitic acid is one of the largest fatty acid fraction found in Crude Palm Oil (CPO). The process used is a hydrolysis process with raw materials of CPO (Crude Palm Oil) and water. The main products produced are palmitic acid, oleic acid and stearic acid with a by product of crude glycerol. The counterclockwise system occurs at a temperature of 250oC and a pressure of 50 bar. The ratio between oil and water reacted is 40% by weight of oil. A fatty acid factory from CPO is planned to be established in Tanah Putih District, Rokan Hilir with a factory capacity of 70,000 tons/year. The main tool design in the form of a Palmitic Acid Distillation Tower (T-102) serves to separate the palmitic acid fraction from other fatty acid fractions. The height of the T-102 (H) distillation tower is 405.4691 in and the outer diameter of the tower (OD) is 60 in with a shell thickness (ts) of 0.1875 in. Based on the results of the economic feasibility analysis of the factory, the methyl ester plant is feasible to be established with a PBP of 2.2 years, an IRR of 22.7409%, an ROI of 34.4222%, and a BEP of 57%.
