Pengaruh Konsentrasi Naoh Dan Rasio Liquid To Solid Terhadap Kuat Tekan Mortar Geopolimer
ABSTRACT
Cement production produces emissions that are estimated to increase every year. Lately, portland cement has often been criticized with regard to greenhouse gas (carbon dioxide) emissions produced in cement production. This gas is released into the atmosphere freely and damages the environment. One alternative method that is appropriate and environmentally friendly is by making geopolymer mortar, because geopolymer is a synthesis of inorganic natural materials through the polymerization process. The purpose of this research is to make geopolymer mortar made from a mixture of fly ash (FA) and metakaolin, to examine the effect of liquid activator to solid ratio on compressive strength of geopolymer mortar, to examine the effect of concentration on compressive strength of geopolymer mortar. The raw material used is fly ash and metakaolin first to be carried out in the pre-treatment stage, then entered into the geopolymer mix design process using a liquid to solid ratio of 20/80, 25/75, 30/70 with variations in the concentration of NaOH 8M, 10M, 12M and 14M. The highest compressive strength is obtained from the ratio of liquid to solid 30/70 with a concentration of 14M which is equal to 13.74 Mpa. The highest porosity value is obtained from the liquid to solid ratio of 20/80 at 8M NaOH concentration which is 8.01%. The lowest porosity value is obtained from a liquid to solid ratio of 30/70 at a 14M NaOH concentration of 4.24%.
