ABSTRACT
Calcium chloride (CaCl2) is a type of salt that dissolves easily in air and is hygroscopic, so that calcium chloride is widely used in industry. Calcium chloride as a dessicant, as a deicing agent and de-icing agent, as a source of calcium ions, as an additive in the food industry. The design of the calcium chloride manufacturing plant is planned to produce with a capacity of 200,000 tons/year and operate for 330 days a year. The process of making calcium chloride with raw materials of calcium carbonate and hydrogen chloride uses an acidification process. The design of the main process equipment specified in the pre-design of this plant is the neutralization of the reactor with a reactor temperature of 40 °C and a reactor pressure of 1 atm and a reactor conversion of 90%. The planned factory location is at the factory location in Sidoarjo, East Java. The results of the economic evaluation of the calcium chloride manufacturing plant are as follows: Break event point in the 4th year, the ROI value obtained is still below 50%, which is 17.4%, the PBP value is still below 5 years, namely for 3.9 years, the value The IRR obtained is less than 30%, namely 22.72, and the profit obtained by the factory is IDR 73,765,897,947 with a total production cost of IDR 427,976,014,298 and a selling price of IDR 594,068,064,345.85. From the results of the economic evaluation it can be interpreted that this Calcium chloride Manufacturing Plant is feasible to establish.
