Prarancangan Pabrik Dimetil Karbonat Dari Metanol Menggunakan Proses Oksidatif Karbonilatif Dengan Disain Alat Utama Reaktor Fixed Bed Multitube
ABSTRACT
Dimethyl carbonate (DMC) is a compound that has a versatile reactivity. DMC is widely used in transformation chemical reactions such as methylation, carbonylation and methoxycarbonylation. Dimethyl carbonate is also an alternative additive that is considered capable of replacing conventional additives because DMC is more environmentally friendly than other additives. Formation of dimethyl carbonate begins by reacting methanol with carbon monoxide and oxygen in the reactor (R-101) with a temperature of 130 ℃ and a pressure of 9 atm. The next stage is the separation stage, which aims to separate the dimethyl carbonate from the impurities. The separation process uses a flash drum and two distillation towers. The main design is a multitube fixed bed reactor (R-101) which functions to produce the main product, namely dimethyl carbonate. This reactor operates at a temperature of 130℃ and a pressure of 9 atm. The results of the feasibility analysis obtained a Return on Investment (ROI) of 26.95%, a Payback Period of 2.7 years, an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) obtained was 22.698% and a Break Event Point (BEP) value obtained was 38%. Based on the results of the feasibility analysis of the design of the dimethyl carbonate from methanol plant, it was found that this plant was feasible to establish because it met the requirements of the feasibility analysis.
