Pembuatan Replika Tulang Dari Hidroksiapatit Dengan Variasi Penambahan Tepung Maizena
ABSTRACT
Bone replicas are bones made to be used as implant models. One technique for
making bone replicas was starch consolidation. The purpose of this study was to
determine the effect of variations in the addition of cornstarch on the
characteristics of the bone replicas produced. This research was conducted by
mixing 20 grams of HAp with the addition of 8 grams, 10 grams and 12 grams of
cornstarch, and 20 ml of distilled water to form a slurry. The formed slurry was
then stirred at a speed of 200 rpm. The mixture is then put into a 3D mould of duck
bones. Furthermore, the mixture in the mold was heated at 100 for 1 hour. After
that the green bodies were removed from the mold and dried in an oven at 100 oC
for 24 hours. The dried sample was then put into the furnace. Combustion was
carried out at a temperature of 600 oC and continued with sintering at a
temperature of 1200 oC with a holding time of 1 hour. Furthermore, bone replicas
were analyzed for the percentage of shrinkage in mass, density, and porosity. The
shrinkage percentage obtained in this study with a mass of 8 grams, 10 grams and 12
grams of cornstarch respectively was 28,09%; 47,75%; 59,96%, with a density of 1,83
g/cm3; 1,67 g/cm3; 1,51 g/cm3, and the porosity results are 42%; 47%; 52%. Increasing
the addition of cornstarch causes the resulting porosity to be greater, the density to be
smaller and the resulting shrinkage to be smaller.
