Prarancangan Pabrik Butanol Dari Butil Butirat Menggunakan Proses Hidrogenasi Dengan Desain Alat Utama Reaktor Fixed Bed Multitube (R-201)
ABSTRACT
Butanol is one of the chemicals with the chemical formula C4H10O which is needed for industrial needs as a solvent or organic synthesis. Butanol is an intermediate material used as raw material for downstream industries in the textile, polymer, plastic, paint, surface coating and pharmaceutical industries. In the chemical industry, Butanol is used as a solvent, in the manufacture of varnishes, and in the manufacture of other chemicals. Butyl butyrate and hydrogen are used as raw materials for the manufacture of butanol through the hydrogenation process. In this process Cu catalyst is also used in the form of tablets. The forming process stage is divided into 3 process stages which include the raw material preparation stage, the product formation stage and the product purification stage. Butyl butyrate from the tank (TK-101) is vaporized in the vaporizer (E-102) and hydrogen from the gas tank (TK-102) is fed into the reactor (R-201). Then it enters the separation stage to separate the butanol product from butyl butyrate and hydrogen which does not react with the separator (SP-302). Then the butanol is passed to the distillation tower. Butanol is purified with the help of distillation so that it reaches a purity of 99%. The main device design in this design is the reactor, which has a functions to react butyl butyrate and hydrogen with the help of a Cu catalyst. The type of reactor used is Fixed Bed Multitube. This reactor operates at 300οC with a pressure of 10 atm. The results of the factory economic evaluation showed a PBP value of 2.57 years, an IRR of 2.88%, an ROI of 28.77% and a BEP of 58.56%.
