Prarancangan Pabrik Epiklorohidrin Dari Diklorohidrin Dan Natrium Hidroksida Dengan Desain Alat Utama Menara Distilasi (T-101)
ABSTRACT
Epichlorohydrin with the chemical formula C3H5ClO is an organochlorine and epoxide compound derived from allyl chloride. Epichlorohydrin is commonly used for various industries as a raw material manufacture of epoxy, peroxy, polyamide resins, polyether rubber, surfactants, elastomers, lubricants and paints. This epichlorohydrin plant will operate for 330 days per year with continuous work of 24 hours per day and a capacity of 10,000 tons/year which will be established in Serang, Banten. The epichlorohydrin production process such as preparation, reaction and purificarion. The main equipment design in this plant is distillation tower which works to separate epichlorohydrin from H2O, C3H5Cl3 dan C3H6Cl2O to obtain epichlorohydrin with a purity 99%. The temperatures in this distillation tower are 100.205 oC with a pressure of 1 atm. The distillation tower T-101 has 930.944 in high, 22.007 in outside diameter, and uses skirt support. The economic analysis on the design of this plant shows that epichlorohydrin plant from dichlorohydrin and sodium hydroxide is feasible to be built with the plant Payback Period (PBP) of 1.8 years.
