Prarancangan Pabrik Phenol Menggunakan Proses Versalis/Lummus Technology Dengan Disain Alat Utama Bubble Column Reactor (R-103)
ABSTRACT
Phenol is one of the chemicals needed in various industries. In the chemical industry, phenol is used as a raw material for making phenolic resins, raw material for making bisphenol-A, nylon, peptides and medicines. The process for making phenol is carried out using the versalis process/lummus technology by reacting cumene and oxygen. The purpose of the bubble column reactor (R-103) is to react AMS with hydrogen to produce cumene which will be recycled back to the oxidation reactor. The factory was established in 2025 with a capacity of 250.000 tons/year and is located in the Lubuk Gaung, Sungai Sembilan District, Dumai City, Riau. The main tool design is a bubble column reactor (R-103) with a height of 7,49 m, a diameter of 1,98 m with material Low-alloy steel SA 204 Grade C. Total Capital Investment (TCI) is IDR 2.309.601.930.110. Based on the result of plant’s economic feasibility analysis, IRR was obtained at 22,745%, ROI 45,04%, and BEP above 40%.
