Pembuatan Briket Dari Ampas Teh Dengan Variasi Perekat
ABSTRACT Indonesia has many companies or home industries that process tea. This condition has the potential to produce solid waste in the form of tea waste in relatively large quantities. So far, tea waste is only fermented into fertilizer and the rest is simply thrown away, so further processing is needed to become a product that has economic value. Tea waste can be processed into environmentally friendly briquettes. This study aims to find alternative fuels to replace kerosene and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) for household needs such as briquettes. Briquettes are made using a carbonization process to get the material in the form of charcoal which is then crushed in a blender. Charcoal that has been crushed is printed with the help of adhesive from tapioca flour (starch) and cornstarch with a mass of 10, 15, 20 and 25 grams of each adhesive variation. After the printing process, the briquettes are dried in the sun for 3 days. Furthermore, the briquettes were analyzed for moisture content, ash content, calorific value and combustion rate. Briquettes that comply with SNI 01-6235-2000, namely the type of cornstarch adhesive with a mass of 10 grams which has a water content of 4.3%; 3% ash content: calorific value 4823.44 cal/gram and burning time 0.0041 gram/second with red flame color.
