Prarancangan Pabrik Melamin Dari Urea Dengan Proses Low-Pressure Dengan Desain Alat Utama Fluidized Bed Reactor (R-100)
ABSTRACT
Melamine is the coating for general or specific purposes such as automotive and paint additives. Melamine is a fine, white, powdered crystal that reacts to aliphatic and aromatic aldehydes into many products. The upcoming trend in the market such as melamine-based foam is likely to provide huge opportunities in the future. In 2018, Indonesia recorded a melamine import number of 32,503,195 tons. These numbers tend to increase in several years. Therefore, a melamine plant is the necessity of domestic demand and minimizes imports. The urea used for this melamine plant is intended for the government fertilizer corporation that oversupplied. Based on a number of reviews, this melamine plant is located in Gresik, West Java. This article is a brief of the mechanical design of the fluidized bed reactor (R-100) as the main equipment that determines the economic feasibility of this plant. The feasibility study shows that the melamine plant has a BEP of 38%; ROI 49%; IRR of 26% and payout time for 1.6 years.
