Prarancangan Pabrik Aseton Dari Cumene Dengan Proses Hercules Dengan Desain Alat Utama Reaktor Bubble Oksidasi A (R-101a)
ABSTRACT
Acetone (CH3COCH3) also known as 2-propanone or dimethyl ketone is a very
important ketone derivative. This chemical is widely used as a solvent, because
acetone is a good solvent for various gums, waxes, resins, fats, oils, dyes, and
cellulose. Until now, no company has produced acetone in Indonesia either as a side
product or as a main product. At this plant, acetone is made through the oxidation
process of cumene (isopropyl benzene) to form cumene hydroperoxide (CHP). The
reactors used are bubble reactor and stirred tank reactor. The output from the reactor
is CHP, phenol, acetone, and a mixture of alpha-methyl styrene (AMS). The
product in the form of CHP is then purified using a distillation tower with a sieve
tray type. The specification of bubble reactor are diameter 1,9812 m and height of
reactor 8,4798 m. Plant economic analysis is carried out to determine the feasibility
of the factory to be built. Based on the results of the plant's economic feasibility
analysis, the acetone plant is feasible to build with a POT of 2,97 years, an IRR of
22,6981%, an ROI of 25,8788% and a BEP of 62%.
