Prarancangan Pabrik Dimethyl Pthalate Dari Pthalate Anhydrid Dan Metanol Menggunakan Reaksi Esterifikasi Dengan Desain Alat Utama Ratb Esterifikasi (R-101)
ABSTRACT
Dimethyl phthalate is a type of plasticizer that is widely used for the manufacture of
nitrocellulose and cellulose acetate rubber. Dimethyl phosphate as a plasticizer is also
used as an additive to make plastic products. The need for imports of dimethyl
phthalate in Indonesia has tended to increase in the last five years. Dimethyl phthalate
production plants are still minimally established in Indonesia, so they still meet
domestic demand by importing from abroad. The purpose of the CSTR Reactor (R-
101) is to react phthalate anhydride with methanol to become dimethyl phthalate.
CSTR reactor operating conditions (R-101) with an operating temperature of 130℃
and a pressure of 3 atm. The dimethyl phthalate factory is planned to be established in
the Gresik Industrial Estate (KIG), East Java, with a production capacity of 15,000
tons per year. The main tool design is the CSTR reactor, which has a height of 3.6.
The total capital investment (TCI) in the pre-designed dimethyl phthalate plant is IDR
171,482,704,685. Based on the results of economic analysis, the dimethyl phthalate
plant is feasible to build with a BEP value of 50%, an ROI of 33.47%, an IRR of
22.73%, and a PBP of 2.25 years.
