Pengaruh Variasi Penambahan Starter Terhadap Produksi Biogas Menggunakan Metode Dry Anaerobic Digestion Dari Sampah Kampus Bina Widya Universitas Riau
ABSTRACT
The waste problem faced by Indonesia is the biggest problem in the environmental field it is necessary to use it, such as converting it into biogas alternative energy. This study aims to analyze the effect of Starter addition variations on biogas production from Bina Widya campus waste, Riau University using dry anaerobic digestion method. This study uses a variety of starter types to see how they affect biogas production, namely the A1 variation (0,5 kg cow dung) and the A2 variation (EM-4 500mL) and the A3 variation without the addition of a starter. 5kg of organic waste was prepared with pre-treatment chopped and then 10% water was added from the total weight of the substrate. For each variation, measurements of water content and pH were carried out before and after anaerobic overhaul and measurement of temperature and volume of biogas every day for 28 days. The results showed that the highest biogas production was found in the A1 variation of 15mL and the highest biogas production/day was found in the A1 variation of 3mL/day. The results of this study conclude that the Bina Widya campus waste, Riau University has the potential to be converted into biogas alternative energy through the dry anaerobic digestion method.
