Pengaruh Variasi Kecepatan Pengadukan Cepat Pada Proses Koagulasi, Flokulasi Dan Sedimentasi Dengan Koagulan Aluminium Sulfat Dalam Menurunkan Kandungan Zat Organik Dan Warna Serta Pembentukan Flok Air Gambut
ABSTRACT
Providing clean water is a problem for some residents who live in peat areas, where the raw water, commonly called peat water, has a high organic matter and color content. One of the peat water treatments that can be done is coagulation, flocculation, and sedimentation. This study aims to determine the effect of rapid mixing speed on coagulation, flocculation, and sedimentation processes with aluminum sulfate coagulant in removing organic matter and color and forming peat water flocs. The variations of the stirring speed used were 80 rpm, 100 rpm, 120 rpm, 140 rpm, 160 rpm, 180 rpm, 200 rpm, and 220 rpm. The results showed that the highest removal of organic matter and color and the largest floc size were at a rapid stirring speed of 180 rpm. At this speed, up to 95.84% of organic matter and 94.04% of color can be removed, while floc can be formed up to 335.05 μm.
