Abstract
Tangkerang River is one of the tributaries of the Sail River that passes through Marpoyan Damai District, Bukit Raya District, and Sail District, Pekanbaru City. The Tangkerang River has a river length of 6 km, a width of 5-7 m and a depth of 27-46 cm. The Tangkerang Watershed (DAS) is in a densely populated and activity-dense area. The Tangkerang River is used as a large drainage site from the city center. Community activities around the Tangkerang River such as shops, markets, restaurants, hotels and fisheries have caused a decrease in water quality for the Tangkerang River. The parameters analyzed are physical parameters (temperature, TSS (Total Suspended Solid), TDS (Total Dissolved Solid)), chemistry (pH, COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand), DO (Dissolved Oxygen), Pb (Plumbum)), and biology (Total Coliform). For the analysis of the Tangkerang River using the method listed in the Decree of the Minister of Environment No. 115 of 2003, namely the Pollution Index Method. The results of the analysis of the water quality status of the Tangkerang River from point 1 to point 4 are in a "moderately polluted" condition with a Pollution Index value at each point, namely point 1 of 6.85, point 2 of 6.91, point 3 of 6.94, and point 4 of 6.84. From the results of the analysis, it was found that domestic waste is a dominating source of pollution so that determining the location of communal WWTP (Wastewater Treatment Plant) in the Tangkerang watershed is one of the efforts to control the right source of pollutants in the Tangkerang River. The locations served by WWTP include West Tangkerang Village, Central Tangkerang Village, North Tangkerang Village, Sukamaju Village and Cinta Raja Village. The calculation of the scoring method uses factors and weights that refer to the 2012 samsuhadi study. The calculation results show that the best score is in the lower reaches of the Tangkerang River, namely North Tangkerang Village, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru City with a score of 341.
