ABSTRACT
In the waters of the Siak river, Benayah Village, there are several fishing gears
used in fishing activities, one of which is the splint. Splints are a type of trap and
are classified as other traps. The purpose of this research is to determine the
construction of fishing gear in general, fishing operations, the level of
environmental friendliness and the feasibility of the splint fishery business. This
research will be carried out in December 2022 which is located in the waters of
the Siak river. The method used in this research is the survey method. According
to FAO criteria (1995), splinting in Benayah Village is classified as a very
environmentally friendly fishing technology. From the results of the analysis of
the splint fishing gear business it is known (NPV) with a 10-year prediction
indicating that the splint fishing business achieves a return on capital in the 1st
year of Rp. 1,995,283.
