ABSTRACT
The contribution of forests to food availability is manifested through the optimal utilization of forest resources as a food source. Food derived from forests is obtained through the utilization of flora and fauna to meet various food and non-food needs. Rimbo Larangan, guarded by the indigenous community of Seberang Teratak Air Hitam Village, possesses abundant natural resources due to the continued adherence to customary regulations for forest conservation. This research aims to identify the potential of plant-based food resources that can be utilized by the indigenous community of Rimbo Larangan in Seberang Teratak Air Hitam Village, Kuantan Singingi Regency. Data was collected through direct observation and interviews as primary sources, while secondary data was obtained from the local government of Seberang Teratak Air Hitam Village and relevant literature. Direct observation data were analyzed using vegetation analysis, while interview data were collected using purposive sampling technique with the Slovin method to obtain a systematic overview encompassing plant species, families, utilized plant parts, processing methods, and other benefits.
