Abstract
Vision ability has a important role for most fish larvae which are used to detect the presence of food. The success of feeding for fish in using visual aids in natural conditions depends on the background colour of the habitat. The purposed of study was to determine the effect of the background colour of the container on the growth and survival of bonylip barb larvae. This research was conducted in October - November 2022 at the Fish Hatchery and Breeding Laboratory, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, University of Riau. This study used an experimental method with on factor Completely Randomized Design and three replications. The treatments in this study were Wo (orange container), Wbr (blue container), Wm (red container), Wb (clear container), Wh (black container).
