ABSTRACT The succes of the region in the economy is highly dependent on development planning for the area concerned. So with that research on the analysis of the agricultural sector as a deep base sector absorption on labor kuantan singingi district. This study aims to find out the role of the agricultural sector as the basis sector in absorbing labor in Kuantan Singingi district. The type of data used is secondary data with data collection techniques is documentation, namely data collection from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) of Riau Province. Data were analyzed using the location Quotient (LQ) method.
The results of this study indicate that the role of the agricultural sector in economic growth shows an LQ value from 2016 to 2021 > 1. The agricultural sector has great potential and prospects for economic growth in Kuantan Singingi Regency, especially in employment both locally and outside the region and income development per capita population or can be called this sector is the base sector. The role of the agricultural sector in absorbing labor in Kuantan Singingi Regency with the number of labor procurement during 2016-2021 has increased employment opportunities in the agricultural sector by 1 (one) person can increase overall employment opportunities by 2 (two) people in the area of Kuantan Singingi Regency . Related to this, the local government of Kuantan Singingi Regency and related agencies are expected to make policies that are useful in developing the economy, especially in the agricultural sector. Because the agricultural sector is able to absorb a large enough workforce in Kuantan Singingi Regency.
