Analisis Kinerja Optical Single Sideband (Ossb) Dengan Penambahan Fiber Bragg Grating (Fbg) Untuk Mengatasi Dispersi Kromatik Pada Sistem Radio Over Fiber (Rof)
ABSTRACT
Radio over Fiber (RoF) is a system where radio frequency (RF) signals are transmitted through optical fibers to support wireless communication services. The advantage of RoF lies in its lower construction costs and economic feasibility. However, RoF systems face the issue of chromatic dispersion over certain fiber lengths, leading to significant power loss. This research focuses on the development of a Radio over Fiber (RoF) system using the Optical Single Sideband (OSSB) technique and the addition of a Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) on the receiver side to mitigate chromatic dispersion issues. The research demonstrates that utilizing the OSSB technique with a 90° input Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM) Dual-Drive Mach-Zehnder Modulator (DD-MZM) results in low power fluctuations, and the addition of an FBG on the receiver side enhances the performance of the OSSB technique in addressing chromatic dispersion. The RoF system with QAM modulation input performs well with 4-QAM modulation but requires adjustments for 16-QAM and 64-QAM modulations. This research contributes to the development of wireless communication technology with improved performance in tackling chromatic dispersion issues.
