Penerapan Model Pembelajaran Predict Discuss Explain Observe Discuss Explain Berbantuan Phet Simulation Untuk Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar Kognitif IPA Fisika Siswa Kelas VIII SMP Negeri 8 Pekanbaru
This research aims to determine the cognitive learning outcomes of physics science for class VIII students through the application of the PDEODE learning model assisted by PhET Simulation. The research design used was quasi experimental with a nonequivalent posttest only control group design. The population of this study was the entire class VIII of SMP Negeri 8 Pekanbaru for the 2023/2024 academic year with a sample of 74 students consisting of class VIII.C which was the experimental class with 37 students and class VIII.E which was the control class with 37 students. The data collection instruments used are learning and data collection instruments. The data analysis technique used is descriptive analysis through the average value of students' cognitive learning outcomes and inferential analysis through normality tests, homogeneity tests and hypothesis tests. The results of the research showed that the average value of students' physics cognitive science learning outcomes in the experimental class was better than that in the control class. Therefore, the PDEODE learning model can be used as an alternative that can be applied in the science learning process in schools in order to improve students' physics cognitive science learning outcomes.
